Welcome to cooligPhoto, this website is a showcase of the photography of me, Nigel.
I have been interested in photography for over 30 years since I first got hold of a used Zenit camera.
Since then, I have progressed through to a Minolta Dynax 7xi which was "European Camera of the Year" when I bought it. I also
had my own darkroom at the time so experienced the immense joy of processing my own film and seeing the results in my own printing.
In 2007 I rekindled my interest in photography after a fairly long absence when I decided to get a digital SLR. After a lot of thought
and research, I decided upon the Nikon D200 but instead purchased a D80 which allowed me more spare funds to buy a decent lens.
I now own a pair of Nikon D2Xs bodies, 28-70mm f/2.8 zoom, 80-200 f/2.8 zoom and a 400mm AF-I f/2.8 prime lens.
Alongside these are 1.4x and 2x converters, a set of macro extension tubes, macro filters, 18-55mm standard zoom and a "nifty fifty".
For stabilising, a Manfrotto 680B Monopod, Manfrotto 055CXPro4 Carbon Fiber Tripod with 322RC2 Grip head and 410 Geared head.
My main interest is in nature but am now earning from sports photography.
I have had photographs published here and here along with having sports photos published in newspapers.
